There they must make visual inspections, pay attention to the diagnostics, activate safety stops, and make repairs. Watch the full playthrough below.

This early project was a huge undertaking. Back then, the development team was just me and a 3D modeler. I developed the basis of our procedures, interactions, and contexts from this very project. We’ve continually improved and evolved them in the SDK since then. This was a great milestone for us and showed us what we were capable of. Even now, I’m quite impressed at how extensive this project is in scenes and processes.

Another challenge was the sheer density of the environment we were trying to create. Big props to my modeler Karan, who was able to make things look amazing and still run on a standalone headset back when VR was still primitive. Unfortunately, after all the interactions were added, we weren’t able to maintain maximum frame rates. We applied every trick in the book but it was quite low. Crucially, we learned what our performance ceiling was, and carried that knowledge into the next project.
